Glacial geomorphology of the central sector of the Cordilleran Ice Sheet, Northern British Columbia, Canada

Northern British Columbia was repeatedly covered by the Cordilleran Ice Sheet (CIS) during glacial periods. However, its mountainous terrain and remote location have thus far impeded our understanding of central sector ice sheet. The improved resolution remotely sensed data provides new opportunities to unravel history this inaccessible location. Here, we present a comprehensive map landforms for CIS (55° 60° N). Seven landform categories were mapped: flow parallel lineations, moraines (CIS outlet glacier moraines, Late Glacial unknown origin), meltwater channels (lateral submarginal, subglacial, proglacial, kame terraces, eskers (single ridges esker complexes), perched deltas subglacial ribs. Collectively, these provide record extent, thickness behaviour CIS, direction movement pattern retreat.
